Sunday Sunny Special

Today we woke up to a pleasant surprise - a room full of sunlight :). What more can you ask for ? Well, a perfect breakfast for my growling tummy - We decided to go healthy. I chose oatmeal ( with walnuts, dates and raisins ) and Lahari went for the filter coffee and toast. We enjoyed a lazy sunday morning watching few game shows and a special episode about egyptian mummies - Nothing can beat this , right. Well, a perfect homely lunch trumped the whole thing. Filter Coffee Anyone

A perfect start to a perfect saturday - Coffee with Bread and Omelette. Lahari's fascination with filter coffee has passed onto me. I took over the omelettes while Lahari was prepping the veggies. We had a heavy breakfast and all set to visit our friends from the zoo :D. A pretty cold , dry and sunny day - we were covered from head to toe as we strolled around at the Woodland Park Zoo.
We needed the much deserved lunch and headed towards Seattle Center food court for a hearty Mediterranean veggie salad ( consisting of peta/hummus/baba ganoush ) and a chinese entree w/tofu. We wrapped up the evening watching "I'm Number 4" @ Pacific IMAX

A "Heart"y Dinner

A special day for the most special person plus extra-special dinner :). It was a rainy day but that didn't get us down - we booked for a special dinner on a Cruise over Lake Washington. We were invited into a cozy cruise with live music. A champagne toast and a special rose were waiting for us at the table. Love is in the air and so are the flavors and fragrances of the special multifare prix fixe. Our first course was a greek appetizer called spanakopita ( spinach filled samosas ). That was immediately followed by a salad w/walnuts and crispy apple slices. We took a break and explored the entire cruise. Our main course was a special dish called "Grilled Belgian Endive". It was quite an exotic trip. For the finale, we were served banana creme brule with chocolate dipped strawberry and I could hear my taste buds screaming - "Happy Valentines Day!!!" :D
